Community Booth

As part of Hillsdale Farmers’ Market’s mission to foster a vibrant, inclusive, and resilient community, we are pleased to provide space for non-profit organizations to share resources and information that support the well-being of our neighborhood. We especially welcome groups whose work aligns with our values around local food systems, equity, environmental stewardship, health, education, and community connection.

Priority is given to Southwest Portland-based organizations, and we encourage you to create fun, informative, and interactive displays that enhance the market atmosphere.

The Market may provide a free booth space to non-political, non-religious civic & community non-profit organizations that serve the Hillsdale / SW Portland area on a case-by-case basis and under the following terms:

  1. An organization approved by the Market will be given a 10’ by 10’ space at one or two markets per season, as space allows, without paying a fee for the booth. The Market can also offer a 10’ by 10’ tent, one (1) 6-foot table and two (2) chairs if needed.

  2. All activities must be undertaken within the confines of the booth area – organizations are not to approach people in the aisles of the Market who do not come up to the booth.

  3. The organization may offer literature or other information, and may solicit volunteers for activities and/or collect contact information from potential members/subscribers (e.g., have a sign-up sheet or registration card), but may not circulate petitions or gather signatures for political purposes (e.g., provide form letters to be signed).

  4. The organization may NOT accept cash, check or credit card contributions.

  5. The organization may NOT sell tickets to an event or raffle tickets raising funds for the organization and its mission.

  6. The organization may give away non-food items upon Market approval, but may NOT sell goods of any sort.

  7. The booth must be clearly labeled with a banner or large sign indicating the name of the organization.

  8. Please note: schools and preschools are not eligible for a community booth space.
