Hillsdale Farmers' Market job opening, per diem -- good for a student

 

For over 15 years, Hillsdale Farmers Market has been a year-round community market serving Southwest Portland. People love the market for its wide selection of locally-produced offerings and for the professional, friendly vendors, staff and volunteers and wonderful customers. 

Job Summary, Responsibilities 

Work under the supervision of the assistant manager to take down and/or collect market infrastructure, including but not limited to: street signs, shade canopies, folding tables & chairs, and supplies bins. 

Perform nominal cleaning, such as wiping down tables & chairs and transporting garbage bags to the dumpster. 

Work with the assistant manager and volunteers to load infrastructure into the storage truck. 

Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications, Skills: Ability to work well with others; ability to follow directions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. 

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, reach, bend, stoop, and withstand possible extremes in weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, dry), and commit to all market Sundays (occasional excused absence is permitted). 

Market Season 2016-17 includes: 
Every Sunday, May 7 through November 19 
December 3 & 17, January 7 & 21, February 4 & 18, March 4 & 18, April 8 & 22. 

Compensation: $30 per shift, paid monthly. Shift hours: Market Sundays 12noon until the truck is packed, approximately 2pm (no later than 2:30pm).
