January 23 Market Wrap-up

Monday, January 23, 2012 at 9:58PM The weather could have been much worse. Despite the snow and ice in the Columbia Gorge, Draper Girls Country Farm made it to the market (with 12 inches of snow on the top of the truck). Chuck and Rachel Stephens of Stephens Farm in Grand Island have been staying with family in Salem but made it to the market too. Given the wind and rain, the market was pretty lively. Thank you all who came out.
I spoke with John Eveland at Gathering Together Farm on Saturday. He is hopeful that the farm will be back in the market in a few weeks. Greens will be very limited but there are plenty of storage crops. I'll be checking in with Deep Roots this week to see how they fared.
The next market is Sunday February 5. The Grapevine will be posted mid-afternoon February 2nd.
Have a good week,
